Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: September 27, 2026

Make AI Voice turns text into AI-generated speech. This policy explains what you may not create, how we check content, what happens when the rules are broken, and how anyone — including people who don't use our service — can report a problem. It is part of our Terms of Service.

Prohibited content

You must not upload, generate or attempt to generate any of the following:

1. Sexual content

Sexually explicit or sexualised speech, including erotic scripts and audio pornography.

2. Violence and gore

Graphic violence, gore, visible serious injury, torture, cruelty to animals, and content that promotes self-harm or terrorism.

3. Hate speech

Content that attacks, demeans or incites hatred or discrimination against people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other protected characteristic, including hateful symbols used approvingly.

4. Child safety

Any content that sexualises, endangers, abuses or exploits minors. There are no exceptions, including 'fictional' or 'aged-up' framing. We report suspected child sexual abuse material to the relevant authorities and preserve the records they need.

5. Voice impersonation and deepfakes

Imitating a real, identifiable person's voice without their consent, or producing audio designed to make listeners believe a real person said something they did not. Public figures, politicians and celebrities are included.

6. Fraud, scams and deceptive calls

Phishing or scam scripts, fake emergency or 'family member in trouble' calls, fake customer-support or bank calls, robocalls made without the recipient's consent, and audio that impersonates a company, official or authority.

7. Election and public-safety misinformation

Audio designed to mislead people about voting, elections, public health or emergencies — for example, a fake statement from a candidate or an official.

8. Copyright and trademark infringement

Narrating text you don't have the rights to publish (for example, turning someone else's book into an audiobook for distribution), or content that suggests an endorsement that doesn't exist.

Also prohibited: harassment or bullying of any person, content that is unlawful where you or we are located, and trying to get around our filters (for example by misspelling words or hiding instructions in another language).

Voice cloning

  • You may only clone your own voice. Cloning another person's voice — including with their recordings, and including public figures — is not allowed.
  • To create a voice you read a passage that we generate at random, live in your browser. We transcribe the recording and only create the voice if it matches the passage. Uploaded audio files are not accepted.
  • We keep the recording, the passage and the transcript as a record of consent for as long as the voice exists. Deleting the voice deletes the recording.
  • Cloned voices are private to your account and cannot be shared with or used by other accounts.
  • Using a cloned voice for any of the prohibited content above — especially fraud, scam calls and impersonation — leads to immediate suspension.

How we moderate

  • Before generation. All text you submit is checked against our own blocklist, which we update whenever a new evasion shows up. It blocks sexual content, anything involving minors, harassment of real people, violence, hate speech and self-harm instructions, in English and the other languages our users write in. Blocked text is never sent to a model.
  • At the model level. The models we use apply their own safety filters on top of ours.
  • Human review. Borderline automated decisions, all reports, and every account suspension are reviewed by a person. We keep a log of automated decisions and of the human decisions made on them.

Enforcement

Depending on how serious the breach is, we may:

  • refuse the request or withhold the generated audio;
  • remove content from your account;
  • forfeit credits obtained through abuse (for example, from duplicate accounts);
  • suspend or permanently close the account. Any attempt to create sexual or harmful content involving minors leads to immediate suspension. Other clear breaches — sexual content, harassment, graphic violence, hate — get one warning; the next attempt leads to automatic suspension;
  • block the devices and sign-up details used to return after a ban, and withhold free credits from new accounts on those devices;
  • report unlawful content, and always suspected child sexual abuse material, to the relevant authorities.

If a paid account is closed under this policy, we refund it as described in section 4.3 of the Terms.

Reporting content

Anyone can report content made with Make AI Voice — you don't need an account. Use the report form or email support@makeaivoice.com with a link to the content and what is wrong with it.

Every report goes straight to a person. We aim to act within 24 hours, and immediately for child-safety and non-consensual intimate content. We remove content that breaks this policy, take action on the account behind it, and reply to you if you leave an email address.

AI-generated content

Everything our service produces is AI-generated. When you share or publish audio made with Make AI Voice, don't present it as a real recording of a person, and label it as AI-generated wherever the platform you post on asks for that or a listener could be misled.

Appeals

Automated filters make mistakes. If your text was blocked, or your account was suspended, and you think we got it wrong, email support@makeaivoice.com from your account email. A person will review it and reply.
